Entelliteq recently demonstrated its ability to further adapt the SituX LogC2 platform to support operations in conflicted and austere environments.

Military logistics data has always straddled the operational classification line. Logistics information systems need to transmit unit and equipment readiness data and provide sensitive or classified physical locations to enable distribution of resources.  Even though most logistics information is unclassified, opposing actors can aggregate the data and exploit vulnerabilities in the supply chain for destruction, sabotage, or theft. For military organizations, when deployed they still must reach back to the local or United States industrial base for parts and supplies. Many of those providers are civilian organizations and do not operate in classified domains. Furthermore, most military logistics enablers, the mechanics, technicians, and warehousemen, lack classified security clearances which result in manual entry of logistics data if it gets entered at all, which skews the commander’s Common Operational Picture.

The common solution to address this situation is to employ Cross Domain Solution (CDS) devices in protected, strategic, and operational network nodes. CDS’s both filter and enforce rules to ensure classified data does not reach unclassified domains; however, new CDS’s require long lead times for accreditation and modification to the logistics enabling systems on both sides of the network line. Making modifications to systems after they are developed is time-consuming and causes further delay in accrediting the solutions to even use an available CDS device or service.

Entelliteq has addressed this issue with SituX by updating the system to enable authorized users to create and filter classified data on the system before it enters the network. Our CDS Mode is enabled at root/system admin level and makes data fields configurable at system admin level. The administrator can choose to mask the data (prevent it from transmitting off the system, substitute data to deflect aggregation efforts, or constrain data fields to a set number of characters to prevent malicious or inadvertent leakage channels). We have developed a rapid process such that additional system fields can be added to the mode in accordance with customer requirements.

Entelliteq’s capability minimizes system changes and provides a framework for CDS filter development reducing accreditation and deployment time and is CDS device or service agnostic. Furthermore, it enables customers to operate in an operational security mode where sensitive data can be sanitized before leaving the local environment when a CDS is not required to cross between separate networks.

The SituX LogC2 CDS Mode is a demonstration of Entelliteq’s commitment to innovative, cost-effective problem solving that advances logistics operations for all types of users in the most challenging environments.
